Dams: We try to save water.
We are in the process of building 4 dams to collect rain water for the monastery.
In the past 20 years, the monastery has had to buy water as we are not connected to the town water supply.
The monastery doesn't have town water. So every single drop of rain is very important for us. The rain water from the car park will be kept in the 4 dams and filtered for use in garden, toilet flushing and bush fire.
We have been very fortunate in the past two years to have high rainfall so the dams fill up quickly. However, the dams leak, so we will need to seal them properly to store water long term.
We need to raise funds to seal these four dams as it will be very expensive. So, we would be grateful for donation to cover cost of concrete or pond liner.
Several plastic water tanks have been donated by kind supporters to store drinking water. Anumodhana- thankyou.
Thanks to Gary Brown of Rocla in Braemar for his kind donation of 300 rejected concrete sleepers to the monastery. We have used them to fix many roads inside the monastery and now we are in the process of building a water storage with these sleepers.
