  • To provide a tranquil, peaceful, natural environment for improving human qualities through Meditation, Retreats, Tai Chi, Yoga and Buddhist Teachings.

Sunnataram Forest Monastery - VESAK DAY

This year, Sunnataram Forest Monastery will hold a ceremony to enshrine the relics of four Arahants in the four small corner pagodas of the Gratitude Pagoda.

The small pagodas will be dedicated to Venerable Sivali, Venerable Sariputta, Venerable Moggalana and Venerable Maha Kaccayana.
New Lighting for the Gratitude Pagoda - These beautiful photos show the Gratitude Pagoda with the new lawn just laid, and 25 new spotlights installed on the ground level. Sunnataram Forest Monastery is looking for sponsors for the new lawns at $4,000,And the new lighting @ $2,500.

Saturdays & Sundays
Visitors are welcome at Sunnataram Forest Monastery to participate in Dana (offering lunch to monks) and to hear Dhamma Talks
Vegetarian Lunch is offered at 11:00am then after washing up meditation there will be a Dhamma Talk. Everyone is welcome.

Sunnataram Forest Monastery
Sunnataram Forest Monastery is a Theravada Buddhist monastery in the Thai forest tradition. The monastery was established in July 1990. The monastery is situated on the outskirts of the town of Bundanoon in the Southern Highlands, which has an elevation of 2205 feet above sea level. The monastery covers an area of 99.7 acres of bush land, hills and cliff faces. Aboriginal people believe that a sacred site is in the monastery area.
