Regeneration of the bush after the 2020 bushfire
The 2020 bushfire devastated 75% of the monastery bushland. Monks and volunteers started to regenerate the bush area since March 2020. We started to plant native trees; 60+ waratah in the gully in 2022. We will continue planting more native flora so all animals can return to thier natural habitats in this bushland.
On 19th May 2023, 33 students of Year 11 from Chevalier college helped to plant 33 red waratah trees in the gully.
